  Dr. Mee-Gaik Lim

Ph.D., LMFT-S, LPC-S

After spending almost 30 years living and practicing in Texas, I have recently returned home to Malaysia. I continue to serve as a Senior Adjunct Professor at Texas A&M University in Killeen. I have over 25 years of experience as an individual, couple, and family therapist to my practice. I am dedicated to helping clients navigate life’s challenges, discover their inner strengths, and foster meaningful, healthy relationships.

In my clinical practice, I believe the counselling relationship must be built on an accepting, respectful, warm, and collaborative environment. My goal is to guide you in rewriting old, unproductive life scripts and constructing opportunities to gain insight into personal patterns. Together, we will focus on your strengths and successes to enhance your personal growth and relationship satisfaction.

I have worked with individuals, couples, and families addressing personal empowerment and exploration, depression, anxiety, anger issues, grief and loss, ADHD challenges, marital and couple challenges, and parenting issues. I am especially interested in working with women and men who desire to increase personal and professional growth. In addition to therapy, I have conducted formal custody and access evaluations (child custody evaluations) for family court cases in Texas to assist courts in determining the best interests of children.

Beyond my direct clinical work, I have been teaching graduate and undergraduate counseling and marriage and family therapy courses for over 20 years. As an active LMFT-S and LPC-S in Texas, I continue to supervise and mentor associates and interns who are working toward their independent clinical licenses in the United States.

I also engage in community outreach and research. I have administered preventive education grants for community agencies and schools, focusing on building effective parenting skills, discipline strategies, and working with resistant children and teens. My research interests center on building strong families, enhancing marital satisfaction, and clinical supervision.

As an Approved Supervisor and Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), I strictly adhere to their Code of Ethics to ensure you receive the highest standard of professional and ethical care.
