Tracy Lim

Licensed and Registered Counselor (Malaysia)

Everyone has their difficult moments at certain points in their lives. A professional therapist, who is trained to be an objective, professional listener can help to ‘untie the knot’ of an overwhelming situation. My role as a therapist is to provide you with a safe space to process difficult emotions, untangle confusing thoughts and gain insights on your life experiences.

I am a mother of two young adult sons with opposite personalities that presented a valuable learning curve for me to grow as a therapist. Parenting was not an easy journey for me; at each developmental milestone of my children, I was met with new challenges and learned new things about myself as well. As such, I decided to go deeper into the study of human psychology. I am now better equipped to support my two sons who can now confidently share their ups and down with me!

My current counseling practice includes working with individuals from young to elderly people, couples and families. I work with clients facing with relationship dilemma, or clients facing mental challenges ranging from depression, anger, anxiety, guilt, low self-esteem to grief & loss.

My other counseling experiences included working with undergraduate students of HELP University on various issues from family and relationship problem to some mental health related issues. I do community service at All Women’s Action Society, where I provide therapy to victims of domestic violence and other kind of crisis situations, including divorce and sexual harassment. I am also part of the psychological support team of Kompleks Penyayang Bakti, under Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (Department of Social Welfare) Selangor.

I am also pursuing my training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT), which will equip me with additional skills and knowledge to better support couples. I also received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

Apart from work, I love to keep fit by doing fitness exercises or yoga at gym on a daily basis. I believe a healthy mindset and body is vital to our personal and working life.

I speak English, Malay, Mandarin & Hokkien.
