Vivian Puah

Licensed and Registered Counsellor (Malaysia)

Life’s journey is full of ups and downs where we may experience brokenness and sorrow. Feeling worthless, unloved, vulnerable, trapped and isolated, the only thing we could see is darkness, the world has no color. Therapy, can be a place where you can get emotional support, develop your individual strengths and resilience as well as explore alternatives during such a very challenging or transitional period in life. I will journey alongside you as you identify your strength and gradually achieve your goals.

I have a Masters in Counselling from HELP University. My counselling work has focused on adolescents and young adults. My previous clinical experience includes working with university students at CAREERsense at HELP University, children and teenagers at PT Foundation and single mothers at a non-profit organization.

In addition, I have conducted group counselling sessions with children at a shelter as well as facilitating school holiday camp for children. I worked as a tuition teacher for elementary school children whilst I was pursing my undergraduate study and I am currently working as a learning support staff in an international school. My experience with children has given me insight into their world. I have also received further graduate-level accredited training to enhance my knowledge and skills in working with children as well as their families. I believe that play is the language for children and children can express themselves more fully through play.

I am also currently pursuing training in Satir Transformational Systematic Therapy. Everyone have the abilities and strengths to develop and grow. They are currently unaware of their resources because they are being caught in their problems and are overwhelmed by the issues confronting them. As your therapist, I work with you to discover your hidden resources, examine different views of your issues and walk with you in your journey of healing and grow.

I am a Licensed and Registered Counselor with the Malaysian Board of Counsellors. As a practicing counsellor, I adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Malaysian Board of Counsellors and the Code of Ethics of the American Counseling Association to ensure that you receive professional care.

I speak English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay.
