Boutaina Rahal

 Registered Psychotherapist (UK)

From a personal and professional experience, I know how rewarding personal transformation can be. It is not always an easy path to be on because it means taking full responsibility for everything in life; the good, the bad and especially the ugly! But, I believe this is a journey worth embarking on as the rewards – inner peace, personal empowerment and a heightened sense of wellbeing – are worth the effort.

I have trained in integrative therapeutic counseling psychotherapy in humanistic, CBT as well as Existential philosophy. Though my area of strong interest is in adult survivors of trauma I have also gained 10 over years international experience working with adult clients one to one or in group therapy with life depression, anxieties, relationship difficulties, post-traumatic stress, alcohol and drug addiction, cultural and identity issues, abuse, domestic violence, personality/mood disorder and personal growth.

Since 2007, my husband, two daughters and myself have travelled to some beautiful and interesting parts of the world due to work commitments. One of the most rewarding experiences and learning in my travels is that differences have never been a barrier between others and myself. The inability to speak a certain language has never stopped me from developing relationships; if anything it has taught me how powerful non-verbal communication can be and has been just as effective in any of my therapeutic sessions. So I am grateful that my broad training base allows me to tailor my skills on a more personal level allowing the client to feel at ease in the space to explore.

Apart from seeing clients at KIN & KiDS, I volunteer my time to see clients at the UNCHR as well as carry out wellbeing workshops for students and staff in international schools in Malaysia.

I am of British Arab background, fluent in English and Arabic with an intermediate level of French.
